The T House (2005)

The T House (2005)

The “T House”, though some 5,700 square feet of living space, is only 12’ high in a zoning district with a height limit of 40’. Because of neighborhood concerns about loss of views we “sank” the house into the ground so that the point of entry was on the top floor. The site elevation was high enough that outstanding views were maintained from all levels. Working with the neighbors in a collaborative way allowed us to get project approval without discretionary review by the Planning Commission. The house, built by Kevin Webb, Webb Construction, was designed by Ogrydziak Prillinger, and has won numerous awards and been published several times. Completed and sold in 2005, the “T House” set a then record price for a home in Noe Valley and resold in 2011 at another recording setting price.
